Miracle Kid Monday: Hannah

When Hannah was 22 years old she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia cancer. She received intense chemotherapy at the Cottage Grotenhuis Pediatric Clinics. After nearly two-and-a-half years, Hannah celebrated her last chemo treatment surrounded by her family, doctors and nurses. Today, Hannah loves to draw and cook and is looking forward to life without chemo.

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Cottage Children’s Medical Center’s outpatient clinic in hematology-oncology is a designated Special Care Center (SCC) by the state of California. This designation means that children with acute and chronic diseases specific to this specialty can receive comprehensive care at Cottage instead of having to travel outside the region.
