Miracle Kid Monday: Thomas

At 8 months old, Thomas was admitted to the Emergency Department and was diagnosed with Intussusception which, if left untreated, could potentially be fatal. Fortunately, in the middle of the night, doctors at Cottage Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) worked quickly to diagnose and treat the intestinal issue. An emergency surgery the following morning proved the diagnosis accurate and treatments successful. Thomas has fully recovered and at 15 months old, is running around, chasing his brother, and keeping mom and dad on their toes.

CCMC cares for more than 14,000 children a year in our Acute Pediatrics Unit, Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, the emergency department, pediatric trauma center, and 10 specialized outpatient clinics.
