Miracle Kid Monday: Albert
Entering this world two months premature, Albert has been in and out of the hospital his entire life, enduring an ostomy, water in the lungs, and removal of his large intestine, colon and appendix. Genetic testing revealed a diagnosis of Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (vEDS), which puts him at risk for vascular dissection, GI perforation and organ rupture. Through all of this, Albert has kept a positive attitude and strong outlook — he never gives up.
Albert’s dog Buddy is allowed to be with him at Cottage Children’s Medical Center (CCMC), which lifts his spirits. At 16 years old, Albert enjoys playing video games and wants to become a professional chef. He’s our 2019 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion for CCMC.
