Two New Fires in North Santa Barbara County

Gracias and thank you to our CMNH partners at Radio Lazer for providing updates on the Thomas Fire* in Ventura County, as well as on two new fire outbreaks in North Santa Barbara County.

CONDADO DE SANTA BARBARA, California – Dos incendios estallaron en menos de una hora el jueves por la mañana, uno en el Valle de Santa Ynez y el otro cerca de Santa María. Las llamas fueron reportadas en un campo cerca de Woodchopper Hill a las 11:30 a.m. unas pocas millas al norte de Zaca Station Rd. Las llamas se podían ver desde Ballard Canyon, según el sitio web de la Patrulla de Caminos de California.

Santa Barbara County, California – two fires erupted in less than an hour on Thursday morning, one in the Santa Ynez Valley and the other near Santa Maria. The flames were reported in a field near Woodchopper Hill at 11:30 a.m. a few miles north of Zaca Station Road. The flames could be seen from Ballard Canyon, according to the California Highway Patrol website.

*The Thomas Fire in Ventura County continues to burn and is threatening the South Santa Barbara County Line; it covers 67,000 acres and is 5% contained. 2,500 firefighters are on the scene.
