Hill and Woolsey Fire 11/9

Our hearts are with colleagues, friends and neighbors living in Ventura County, as our communities grieve the violence of this week in Thousand Oaks and now ongoing fire evacuations.

Road closures and evacuations are ongoing as of 4:30 p.m. today (Nov. 9).

Mandatory evacuations remain in effect for about 100,000 homes in Hill and Woolsey fire areas in Ventura County and LA County:

Mandatory Fire Evacuations:

Hill Fire

  • Point Mugu Naval Base
  • Camarillo Springs
  • Vallecito Trailer Park
  • California State University Channel Islands
  • Dos Vientos
  • South Coast

Woolsey Fire

  • Bell Canyon Oak Park
  • Thousand Oaks – T.O. Blvd north to Sunset Hills, from Oak Park west to Highway 23
  • West of Highway 23 – south of E. Olsen Road, north of Pederson Rd.
  • South of Bard Lake,  east of Highway 23
  • South of Highway 101, east of Reino Rd., north of Potrero Rd., east to the L.A./Ventura County line
  • Wood Ranch and Long Canyon

Voluntary Fire Evacuation Area:  Simi Valley – Long Canyon, Bridal Path, Wood Ranch

The Woolsey Fire has burned more than 14,000 acres and jumped the 101 around Liberty Canyon Road. It is burning toward the ocean near Malibu and the Ventura County line area. The Hill Fire has burned about 6,000 acres and is burning into previously burned areas in the Conejo Grade area. That is slowing the Hill Fire’s progress today.
