Extreme Weather: Flash Flooding in Santa Barbara County

Santa Barbara County is experiencing emergency conditions due to flash flooding and mudslides (the Thomas Fire burn scar left our area vulnerable to the current rain storm). Our hospital emergency departments and trauma services remain open and are responding to provide care to victims of the storm and other patients in need of emergency medical care. If you are not experiencing an emergency, please stay off the roads and in a safe place to allow emergency responders to work in the affected areas.

  • If you are a family member trying to reach a patient in the hospital, please call (805) 682-7111 for assistance.
  • To report your location or search for a missing family member, go to redcross.org and click “get help.”
  • For additional Santa Barbara County resources and information, call 211 or (805) 681-5542, or text (805) 699-0165.
